Summer 2026 - Our Gate is Getting Operational Again |
Gate Instructions 2026There is a link below to watch a manual gate opening video in case of emergency. The actual video has been moved to the 'EVENTS' tab and is now secured behind the password-protected section of our webpage. If you do not see "EVENTS" on the menu bar above, select "Log in" at the top right corner of this webpage or click here to navigate to the 'EVENTS' page. The text below is copied from the PCHOA President early summer newsletter. The gate rollout continues. Here is what you need to know. 1. July 15, 2026 remains our target start date to close the gate. 2. There is an emergency manual opening feature. We are asking every household to view the video so that we can preserve our gate from unnecessary, self-imposed costs. Please watch above to see how to manually open the gate from inside the neighborhood in case of emergency. The video has now been placed behind the password-protected pages of our PCHOA webpage to help preserve our security. 3. While you're on our PCHOA webpage watching the video please login and click your name at the top and select the green 'Edit profile' box to update your email addresses, phone numbers etc. The email address from which you are reading this email is probably your PCHOA webpage username login, but it may not be the email account you or your spouse uses the most. 4. We have 3 trusted agent Gatekeepers who will manage the gate access database and enroll new users. They are: PCHOA volunteer president Doug D (email Doug), PCHOA volunteer IT Specialist Bates H (email Bates), and volunteer Mr. Lou B (email Lou). Any Gatekeeper can help you with gate access. 5. Our new gate access system is a web-based system, not a phone-based system like it was before. It is an invitation-only system so our Gatekeepers need an accurate email address to establish your household account and invite you in. You may sign up for an account in person when a Gatekeeper is at the gate or you may also initiate the process using this google form: Click here. If you wish to copy and paste the google link into your browser this should work: https://forms.gle/xJK77M1eYov9Atce8. You may also request an account via email to a Gatekeeper (see note 4 above). We recommend households share an account and use the same email username and password among family members. Once an account is created, you now can open the gate and you will also will receive an email inviting you to download the MyQ Community App. 6. There are multiple ways to open the gate into our neighborhood: vehicle decal, 4-digit pin, and a phonecall from the entry keypad (press 9 when you get a call on your phone). Homeowners can also open the gate with the MyQ Community App on their smartphone. The app has other features like a guest pass that can last a few hours up to several months. For the tech- savvy there is even a bluetooth option. 7. Vehicle decals. Each household account can have multiple vehicle decals on their account. To resume gate operations, the board voted to provide up to 3 new vehicle decals per household from our existing budget, with additional vehicle decals available for $20. The 3-decal replacement window will expire on Dec 31, 2026. Remember, there are multiple ways to enter the neighborhood so a vehicle decal is not a requirement for every vehicle in your household or for grandparents across town. 8. As you drive through the entry gate, a scanner on the right side of the road should read your decal. A blue semi-circle should then turn to a green smile. The green smile means the scanner sees a decal but until the decal is registered by a Gatekeeper in our database the gate will not open. Some old decals might work so feel free to record the decal number and a recent entry time and the Gatekeeper can determine if your old decal still can open the gate. We will close the entryside gate soon so we can all practice and provide feedback to our Gatekeepers. Please consider being thoughtful to the volunteer Gatekeepers as they work to ensure every household and every vehicle has proper working access to open the gate. 9. Tags should be installed on the inside of your windshield on the passenger side of the car, probably near the top of the windshield. You may want to do a test drive through the gate to make sure the tag is in a good location before you permanently attach it to your windshield. If it is working, the reader on the right side of the entrance will give you a green smiley face. Once attached, the tag cannot be removed without ruining it. If you are planning to get your windshield replaced or sell your car soon, you may want to use a more temporary method of attachment, like tape. 10. Please spread the word among your neighbors about the gate. Also please tell us of a neighbor that may need extra technical assistance getting set up. If you experience any difficulty, or have additional questions, please contact the Board of Directors directly: parrotcreekhomeowners@gmail.com Thank you, |
